  • Yes. I use the Promise brand resin and it is food safe. FDA code, 21CFR175.300 which states “Resinous and polymeric coatings may be safely used as the food-contact surface of articles intended for use in producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food” and can be used as a “functional barrier between the food and the substrate” and “intended for repeated food-contact use”.

    Keep in mind that the epoxy surface is not antimicrobial, and will still have to be disinfected after uses that include serving or eating food.

  • -Resin is FDA-approved, food-safe, and heat-resistant. Minor scratches from normal use are unavoidable but will not affect the lifespan of the product.

    - You can use functional art with warm or cold beverages and food. Just nothing over 135 F.

    -Cheeseboards are best used for food display purposes only.

    -Please avoid using sharp objects directly on the resin surface. Cheese knives are recommended.

    -Cheeseboards, trays, dishes, and bowls are not dishwasher and microwave safe.

    -Clean with a damp cloth, water, and soap if necessary.
